The short version
GAirFlash has no accounts and no user profiles. Your flight plans are yours: they are read on your phone, converted on your phone, and written directly to the SD card in the aircraft over the local network. They are never uploaded to us and we never see them.
The app sends crash diagnostics so that faults can be found and fixed. You can turn that off. Contacting support obviously means we hold what you send us until the matter is closed. Nothing else is collected, and nothing is used for advertising or tracking.
Who is responsible
The controller is Alpha-InfoTec AG, Industriestrasse 3, 6345 Neuheim, Switzerland. Reach us at support@gairflash.app.
What the app does on your phone
Flight plan files you share or open are parsed, rewritten into the format the navigator accepts, and queued on the device. Uploads go over your local Wi-Fi to the card itself, which has no internet connection. No flight plan, route, position or aircraft identifier ever reaches a server of ours.
Per-aircraft settings live on the SD card, not on your phone and not with us. Your own preferences stay in local storage on the device.
The app requests no location permission on iOS. On Android the platform gates the Wi-Fi network-suggestion broadcast behind the fine-location permission; no position is ever read, stored or transmitted.
Crash diagnostics
When the app crashes it sends a diagnostic report to Sentry, whose European data region we use so the data stays in the EU. A report contains the error and the code path that produced it, the app and OS version, the device model, and which build you were running.
It does not contain your flight plans, the card serial number, the aircraft Wi-Fi network name, file names, or any identifier for you or your device. Those are stripped before the report leaves the phone.
This is on by default because a crash nobody reports is a crash nobody fixes. Turn it off in Settings at any time; the app works identically either way.
Contacting support
The support form asks for an email address so we can reply, along with your message and the app version you are running. Submitting it creates a ticket in our private issue tracker, hosted by GitHub in the United States. GitHub is certified under the EU–US and Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework, which is the basis for that transfer.
Replies are sent by email through Resend. If you reply to one, your message is added to the same ticket.
The published telephone number is operated by Twilio. If you leave a voicemail, the recording is transcribed and the transcript is added to a ticket; the recording itself is deleted after 30 days.
To stop automated abuse the form uses Vercel BotID, which looks at how the request was made rather than at who you are. It sets no cookie and is served from this domain, not a third party.
How long we keep it
The technical content of a support ticket is kept indefinitely — it is our engineering record of a fault and why it was fixed. Your contact details are separated from that content and removed after 24 months.
Crash diagnostics are kept for 30 days by Sentry and then deleted.
Your rights
Write to support@gairflash.app to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it erased. For support tickets, erasure means removing your contact details and any identifying content from the ticket; the technical description of the fault is kept because it documents a change to the software.
You may also complain to your data protection authority — in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
This website
The site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and sets no cookies. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you were not asked.
It is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for a short period for security and operational purposes.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes with it and the change is noted in the app’s release notes.
